Market Garden - Son-Best-St.Oedenrode triangle by bike

Introduction

On September 17th 1944 shortly after midday no less than 412 C-47 dropped 6669 parachutists above the fields in the Son-Best-St.Oedenrode triangle. They were directly followed by 56 gliders. The next two days a further 421 and 209 gliders landed in these fields. From these fields the 101st Airborne started their attack towards the bridges and the city of Eindhoven. Fierce fighting took place around these DZ's and LZ in a German attempt to overrun these zones and destroy the 101st.

This bike tour takes you along the roads, fields and locations fought over in those
